Nom Lpo’v: Steam Pumpkin Wrap in Banana Leaf

This simple dessert, made from the two most common Khmer ingredients, pumpkin and palm sugar, can be found in markets throughout the country. There is another version that has an oblong shape and is filled with pumpkin steamed n banana leaf.

  • 450 gr pumpkins grated
  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 120 gr rice flour
  • 10 gr salt
  • 100 gr palm sugar
  • Banana leaves


  • 1. Peel the pumpkin and wash it in clear water and grate it with the grater.
    2. In a bowl, put the coconut milk, grated pumpkin, salt, palm sugar, rice flour and mix all the ingredients.
    3. Then, pack everything in banana leaves, a piece is 35g. Steam for 20 minutes with boiling water. After getting out of the steam, leave in the fridge.
    4. Finally, open the banana leaf and enjoy.
